Our Minister of Music, Micah Pick

Personal

Micah Dale Pick was raised in a Christian home in Wisconsin. His parents fostered within him, very early on, a love for God and a love for music. His love of God was publicly professed in believer's baptism when he was sixteen. And his love for music continues to be something that he uses publicly to honor Christ.

Experience

As early as high school, Micah was a member of the Chamber Choir Ensemble and audition-only Wind Ensemble. But for Micah music and singing have always been ultimately about praising the Lord. He sang in his local church choir and there received experience leading a choir, an orchestra, organizing praise bands, and leading congregational worship. While he has been at Liberty, Micah has had the privilege of serving on the campus wide leadership team both as a dorm Prayer Leader and Spiritual Life Director.

Philosophy

I have a desire to see church music elevated above something that is commercially and emotionally driven by bringing order, excellence, and reverence to a church's worship of God.

Music is not synonymous with worship but is one very important way for the church to express its praise corporately. With that in mind, I have a desire to see the church's music ministry be the very best for the One who is the very best.

As great and as consuming as my love for music is, it is surpassed by my love for God. Because of the cross of Christ and what He has done for us, it is only fitting and appropriate for our response to be one of total surrender, obedience, and worship to Him. Worship is not just music, it's our response to God's grace.
