Children

Training Up Children in the Faith.

The early years of life are critical for spiritual development. At FBC, children experience engaging, age-appropriate lessons each week, teaching them about the Bible and what it means to follow Jesus. We desire for each child to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and pursue a lifelong relationship with Him.

The Gospel Project

Our primary discipleship programming on Sundays and Wednesdays is built on The Gospel Project kids curriculum from Lifeway. Their material is biblically-based and gospel-saturated, emphasizing how all of Scripture is one big story that points to the good news of Jesus Christ.

Sunday Mornings

Background Checks Certified through the Commonwealth of Virginia

Safety Matters

That’s why all volunteers that serve in our Preschool, Children and Youth ministries must be members, and are screened and trained. They have all completed a criminal and Virginia Child Protective Services background check. In addition, volunteers must complete a Child Protection Training session.

Family Dedication

We believe the best baby dedication is also a family dedication. Twice a year, on Mother’s Day and around Thanksgiving, we joyfully welcome families of newborns publicly to encourage them, pray for them, and commit ourselves to them as they raise their child in the Lord.

Events

Easter Eggstravaganza

Every Spring, the Saturday before Easter, we host an Easter egg hunt, that includes breakfast, raffles, and fun, open to the whole community.

Vacation Bible School

Each Summer, during the mornings of last full week of June, we have Vacation Bible School (Lifeway), an outreach event open to the whole community.

Fall Festival

Our annual Fall Festival takes place every October 31st. Kids of all ages are invited to trunk-or-treat in their favorite costume and enjoy bounce houses, refreshments, brunswick stew, and more.

Regular Events

Throughout the year, we offer other inreach events, such as movie nights or ice-skating, and family service opportunities, to promote fellowship and serving with the whole church.
